The Royal Hospital Chelsea is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £62,500 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, to re-examine the natural heritage of our grounds and gardens.

Last month, five Chelsea Pensioners and Royal Hospital Captain of Invalids, George Cochlan, visited Chavasse Military Recovery Centre in Colchester.

Chelsea Pensioner Alan Rutter, 71, is ready to take on a monumental challenge. From Saturday 3rd August, Alan will walk along the entire length of the Western Front, close to 1,000km, starting from the coast of Belgium near Dunkirk to the French town of Pfetterhouse on the Swiss border.  

Chelsea Pensioner Alan Rutter will set out to walk the 610 miles of the "Western Front" this weekend to raise funds for two charities, including the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
