Wheels for troops

22nd January 2015

Motorcyclists are being invited to take part in the fourth annual Wheels for Troops event, a marshalled ride through Surrey honouring the contribution of Armed Forces personnel.

The event will be held on Saturday 4 July and will raise funds the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the British Legion Poppy Appeal, Armed Forces Bikers, BLESMA, Limbless Veterans and SERV.

‘Wheels’, a not-for-profit group, was founded by Amanda Jenkins after her son returned from a tour of Afghanistan.  The family were keen to create an event that remembered those who sadly lost their lives in the conflict, and pledged to fundraise in support of the military community.

The 2015 ride will begin in Reigate and will culminate in a family fun day at Redhill Memorial Park.  The ride will be fully marshalled by volunteers from SERV, assisted by riders from the Royal British Legion Riders Branch.

All participants are asked to make a £15 donation to take part in the ride, for which they will receive an event t-shirt. Riders can register by emailing w4t@live.co.uk or to find out more click here.
